We are proud to be the first hosting company in Africa to partner with CloudFlare.

Why are we so excited about it?

CloudFlare both secures and accelerates your website by acting as a proxy between your visitors and 1-grid's servers. The result is better protection for your website, shorter page loading times and you'll save a whole load of bandwidth. Once enabled for your website, CloudFlare is designated as your authoritative name server. All requests to your website are now routed through their systems, allowing them to clean and accelerate your traffic.

And with state-of-the-art routing technology in 30 data centres around the world, CloudFlare is also able to:

  1. Give your visitors the fastest connection possible CloudFlare's global Anycast network routes customers to their closest data centre: on average, your website will load twice as fast for your visitors no matter where they live.
  2. Cache static content on your site CloudFlare caches static content on your website content such as images, JavaScript and CSS, but not HTML.Cached content is refreshed frequently and delivered directly to visitors from a local CloudFlare data centre at super-fast speed. And even when data is not cache-able, CloudFlare responds to requests just as fast by using premium routes.
  3. Screen your website's traffic for malicious visitors CloudFlare analyses every request made to your website to determine if a visitor is a threat. Among other things, this is based on the visitor's IP, the resource being requested, the payload being posted and how frequently requests are being made. So while threats are being blocked, the visitors you do want are able to quickly access the pages they request.
  4. Optimise your web content Rocket Loader technology is included in all CloudFlare plans (even the free one). This helps your website to process more efficiently any requests for third-party scripts like apps, widgets and tags.By bundling all script requests into a single request and loading them one at a time, Rocket Loader ensures no script blocks your page from loading."
