What is Hotlink protection?
Hotlink protection prevents other websites from directly linking to files on your website. Other sites will still be able to link to any file type on your website without your permission. An example of a hotlink would be using an image link to display an image from your site from somewhere else on the internet.
The end result is that the other site is stealing bandwidth and generates traffic hits on your website consuming your hosting account resources.
How to enable Hotlink protection on cPanel
Step 1- Login to cPanel

Step 2- Click on Hotlink Protection under your security section.
Step 3- Click on Enable.
Step 4- Completed! Protection starts immediately once enabled.
