This article provides you with steps to suspend and unsuspend  email accounts via your cPanel.

There could be email accounts that you want to temporarily suspend for a few days or so. Rather than deleting the account, where the emails that have been received or sent will be lost.

When suspending an email account, the user for the email won’t be able to do all or some of the following:

  • Receiving incoming email
  • Sending outgoing email
  • Or log in

Suspending an account is more like restricting the user from using the email address. In saying this, you can unsuspend or unsuspend the user to use the account any time.

The steps below will show you how to suspend and unsuspend an email account:

Step 1 - Login to cPanel

  • Please see our article on logging into cPanel here.

Step 2 - Click on Email accounts under Email section

Step 3 - On the relevant email address click Unrestricted

Step 4  - Set restriction settings.

  • In the below option we have suspended sending outgoing email from this account.
  • Logging into the email account and receiving emails are unsuspended.
